Emma Mitzner
OBITUARY.
MISS EMMA MITZNER,
Of Tassinong, Ind., departed this life June 27, 1884.
Her sickness was very violent and of short duration. She was at Sabbath-school on june 8th and soon after was taken sick, and was buried on Sabbath, June 29th, just 3 weeks from the day she was actively engaged in her Sabbath-school work, in which she was greatly interesting.
Her sickness was brain fever, and she was attended by skillful physicians, Drs. Ryan and Kellogg, of Valparaiso, who did all in their power to save her life, but the Lord's time had come to call her up higher, and human skill must submit to the Divine will.
She was greatly beloved by all her family, They deeply mourn her loss. She was a very affectionate daughter and sister, and always doing and planning all she could to bring happiness to her parents, brothers and sister. She was deeply interested in the Sabbath-school and in the preaching of the gospel. The day she last attended Sabbath-school she told her father she was never so happy in her life. During her sickness her brain was so affected with the fever that she scarcely knew any one, yet she was almost constantly engaged in earnest prayer for her parents and all the family and for the Sabbath-school. Her funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church at Tassinong, and attended by more than 200 people, nearly all of whom followed her remains to the cemetery. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord."
