Patrick McNearny

LOCAL NEWS.
Patrick McNearny, a fomer well-known citizen of Chesterton, but since 1871, a resident of Chicago, was found dead Saturday morning on the Chicago & Atlantic tracks, in chicago, between 14th and 15th streets. He was last seen alive about 12 o'clock Friday night, and was killed by a switch engine. McNearny has not been in his right mind for some time, and it is not known whether it was an accident or a suicide. The night before his death he borrowed two dollars and said he was coming to Chesterton. Mr. Frank Brown, of this place, went to Chicago with the intention of having the remains brought to Chesterton for interment, but on consultation with friends it was decided to bury them in Chicago. The funeral was held Tuesday. Deceased had no family, and leaves no known relatives.
