McMurry
From the DAILY VIDETTE of Monday, Dec. 31st ult.
In an accident on the Nickel Plate, Saturday, at Tippicanoe caused by one freight train running into the rear of another, one man, name McMurry was instantly killed and a fireman, whose name could not be learned, was severely injured. McMurry was a sailor from Chicago, employed by stockmen to go with stock to New York. At the time of the accident he was in the caboose, asleep, and when the engine came crashing through the car was crashed to pieces. The engineer of the last train escaped by running back over several cars.
