Birdie E. McHenry
Memorial.
Lines suggested on the death of little Birdie E. infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orton E. McHenry, after a brief but painful illness of brain fever complicated with inflammation of the lungs, on the evening of the 17th, aged 16 months.
Farewell Birdie, thou hast left us,
Gone to join the angel band,
Where no storms of earth shall wrest three,
In that happy far-off land.
Then dry your tears, thou sorrowing mother,
For your darling is at rest;
Safely sheltered from earth's trials,
On a loving Saviour's breast.
A FRIEND.
