TWO HOMES VISITED BY DEATH ANGEL
(From Thursday's Daily)
Mrs. Martin Selman, after an illness of nearly two weeks, passed away last evening at her home, 208 Erie street. She was of pioneer stock, and her parents came to this county when the place was a wilderness. Ever since her marriage to Mr. Selman in 1872, a space of 44 years, the location of their home had been unchanged.
Mrs. Selman's maiden name was Tanzon Massey. She was born at Jackson Center in 1847, and was one of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Massey, who settled here in 1835. Only two survive -- Vande Massey and Mrs. Nettie Williams, occupying the old Massey homestead. Those dead are Sam Massey, Sarah St. Clair, LaFayette Massey, LeRoy Massey, Aurilia Shepard, and Samantha Williams.
Mrs. Selman had been in failing health for a long time, but not until April 2d was she confined to her bed. After that there was little or no hope for her recovery.
