One of the saddest sights that it has been our lot to notice for sometime was the appearance of young Otto Martin at the funeral of his mother last Sunday afternoon. It will be remembered that Otto was arrested a few weeks ago for purloining underclothing from Dr. Newland, and has been in jail awaiting trial ever since in default on bail. On Sunday Mrs. Gus Marquardt went his security for $200 and he was therefore allowed to attend the last sad rites over the remains of his mother. Such a scene should be a lesson to our young men and boys.
