Charles Luther
Death of Charles Luther.
Valparaiso Star.
Charles Luther, of Chicago, formerly a resident of this county, met with an accident on Friday last which resulted in his death at 11 o'clock the following day. He was engaged in painting the window shutters of his large warehouse in that city, and in attempting to pull down a window sash on the second story he lost his balance and fell out. His remains were brought here for interment in the Luther cemetery four miles east of town. The funeral services took place this forenoon at 11 o'clock at the Luther school house. The sermon was preached by his sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Luther, of Crown Point, a noted Spiritualist. The attendance was very large.
Mr. Luther was one of the earliest settlers of Porter county, and resided on his farm until about three years ago when he became a resident of Chicago.
