Anna D. Line
DIED.
LINE -- Near Valparaiso, Ind., June 26, 1874, Mrs. Anna D. Line, wife of James B. Line, in the 42d year of her age.
Mrs. Line has been a sufferer for the past four years or more from epilepsy, and has been under medical treatment for a greater part of that time; but the disease resisted all efforts, and has slowly but surely, underminding her health until it terminated in her death. Mrs. Line was born in Wawarsing, Ulster county, New York, being the second daughter of Cornelius B. and Parnelia Hermand. She came with parents to this state about 18 years ago, living in the vicinity of Laporte until five years ago, both parents having since died in the same house and room where she breathed her last. It can be said with truth those who knew her best, loved her most. She was of a retiring disposition, yet affectionate, and ever sympathetic and kind to those who claimed her sympathy, in her family and elsewhere, ever applying the "golden rule" in her intercourse with those about her. During her illness in which at times she has suffered intensely she ever displayed great patience and resignation in her trials. Only those who have passed under similar afflictions can realize how sad are the hearts of those who are left to mourn her loss, and yet we feel there is another cord to draw us to that home on high, where other loved ones have gone and where in God's own good time we hope to meet them again.
"Dear Anna thou has left us,
And thy loss we deeply feel;
But 'tis God who hath bereft us --
He can all our sorrows heal.
"Yet again we hope to meet thee
When the day of life has fled;
Then in heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no parting tear is shed."
