Harriet Lewis
OBITUARY.
Mrs. Harriet Lewis died of yellow jaundice at her home on Morgan Prairie on the 9th inst., after an illness of nearly eleven weeks. She was born in Ohio. At the age of ten she removed with her parents to Montgomery county, Ind., where she married Geo. W. Lewis, Feb. 15, 1850, at which time she removed with her husband to this county where she lived till her death, being then 50 years, 1 month, and 15 days old. Seven children were born to her. She became a Christian at the age of 15 and both lived and died, as far as could be known, full of the hope of immortality and eternal life.
"Sweet are the scenes, when Christians die,
When holy souls retire to rest;
How mildly beam the closing eye,
How gently heaves the expiring breath.
Triumphant smiles the virtuous brow
Fanned by guardian angel's wing,
O grave! Where is thy victory now,
And where, O death! Where is thy sting.
