August Lawson was instantly killed Saturday night, by the fast mail train going west, which passes this station about 11 o'clock. Lawson was a farm hand in the employ of John Norris, of Durham. On the night of his death he went to Holmesville, and spent the evening in the saloon at that place. When struck by the train he was on his way to the home of his employer.
