Catharine Knode
OBITUARY.
Mrs. Catharine Knode, who died at her residence in the eastern border of Valparasio on Saturday and whose funeral services took place at the Baptist church on Sabbath afternoon, was born in Washington county, Maryland, December 25, 1814. She married to Samuel Knode at Boosboro, Md., in 1835; removed with her husband to Porter county, Ind., in 1837; and was baptized into the fellowship of the Baptist church of this place by Elder Harry Smith while pastor of this church, in which she remained a consistent and honored member up to the time of her death. She was the mother of eleven children, eight of whom survive her and who, with the father and husband, mourn her loss. The funeral sermon was preached by her pastor, Elder E. S. Riley, to a large congregation of friends and citizens, from Heb. IV, 9. Her toils are over and she has entered into her rest.
