Joseph Keeler
DIED,
At the residence of his parents, in this County, on the 12th ult., JOSEPH, son of Henry and Eliza Keeler, aged 5 years, 8 months and 10 days.
J ust as thine opening mind began to dawn
O n the parently eye -- thou went withdrawn;
S o soon removed from earth, to dwell on high,
E 'er sin had tainted with its venom'd dye;
P ass'd thou from earth -- the home of sin and pain,
H appy with the redeemed in heaven to reign.
K indly God rules -- and therefore doth he doom,
E arly the young and lovely to the tomb;
E xchanging for a bright eternal crown,
L ife's sorrows, and the fold world's with'ring frown;
E ver to mingle with the happy throng,
R edeeming love to sing -- heaven's sweetest song.
