Peter Johnson
Wheeler Items.
The usual quiet of our little village was disturbed last Sabbath morning, by the discovery of a mangled corpse, in the ditch, a few rods west of the station house, which proved to be Mr. Johnson a shoemaker, formerly of Valparaiso. The coroner's jury brought in a verdict that deceased came to his death, by attempting to board a train under motion, while intoxicated. His funeral was held Tuesday, at the Methodist church, by the Rev. O. R. Beebe, and the remains taken to Valparaiso, for interment.
