James Howland
From the DAILY VIDETTE of Tuesday, Dec. 25th inst.
James Howland, the brakeman run over by the cars, died yesterday at 10:55 a. m. The remains of the unfortunate man were taken to the home of his parents in Decatur, Mich., last evening.
From the DAILY VIDETTE of Monday, Dec. 24th inst.
James Howland, a brakeman on a freight on the Grand Trunk, fell between the cars and had both legs run over. The accident occurred near Crooked Creek, about 8 o'clock this morning. He was brought her and placed in care of the company's physician. Both legs will have to be amputated close to the trunk. But very little hopes are entertained for his recovery. Howland has been on the road about a year, and came from Decatur, Michigan.
