William H. Hayward

Hayward Buried Here.
The remains of Wm. Hayward, the soldier, who was found dead at Dune Park last week, were buried in the Chesterton cemetery last Thursday afternoon. Undertaker Lundberg wrote to his friends in Michigan, and was instructed by them to bury the body here, as they were too poor to defray the expense. In accordance with the instruction Mr. Lundberg buried the body at the expense of the county. Last Saturday Mr. Lundberg received a letter from Hayward's father which says:

"I am the father of the man you have in your prosession for burial, William H. Hayward, and would like if any means found or sufficient means on his person, to send him, do so, as I am an old man and have no means to have him sent here to St. John's. I should like all articles of his sent to me, no matter how small they are, and please send me coroner's inquest heold over his body, and how bad he was mangled if killed by the cars.

T. S. HAYWARD.
Eureka, Mich.
