Resolutions of Condolence.
At a meeting of the Vale Lodge I. O. G. T., No. 54, held Monday evening, May 22d, 1876, the following Preamble and Resolutions were adopted:
WHEREAS, It has pleased Divine Providence to remove from our midst, by death, our friend and brother Dr. Thomas Hawkinson;
Resolved, That in this bereavement that our Lodge has lost a most worthy member and the community a good citizen. His career being ended, he has left behind him the record of an intelligent gentleman of the strictest integrity and unblemished character. He commanded the entire respect and confidence of his associates, and leaves this Lodge a name without a reproach or stain.
Resolved, That as a token to his memory, these resolutions be placed on the record of this Lodge, and that a copy of the same be presented to the family of the deceased, with assurances of the deep and heartfelt sympathy of this Lodge in their bereavement.
