FATHER HARTNETT.
Resolutions of Sorrow and Condolence.
At the first regular meeting of the Columbian society after the death of the late lamented Father Hartnett, the following resolutions were adopted:
Whereas, Almighty God, in his inscrutable wisdom, has called from our midst our esteemed and beloved member, Rev. J. M. Hartnett, and
Whereas, We, the former friends and associates of the deceased, desire to express in some slight degree our appreciation of his many virtues and our sorrow for his early separation from us;
Resolved, That in the death of Rev. J. M. Hartnett the Columbian society has lost a most estimable, valuable, and deeply regreted member; the church one of its most gifted and saintly priests, and society, at large, one whose character was ever to be admired and whose example was well worthy of imitation.
Resolved, That our warmest sympathies are extended to the friends and relatives of our cheerful member;
Resolved, the the above resolutions be published in the Valparaiso VIDETTE.
