DESCENDANT OF COTTON MATHER DIES AT MILLER

Mrs. Mary Harper, 94 years old, a direct descendant of Cotton Mather of Mayflower and Puritan fame, died Monday at Miller and was buried Wednesday at Hobart. She came with her husband, Calvin Harper, to Lake county in 1850. Death resulted from pneumonia of only a few days' duration. Mrs. Harper retained all of her mental faculties and spent much of her time reading psalms and writing letters to her friends.
