Alfred Francen
Horribly Mutilated.
One of the most thrilling and horrifying accidents happened on the Wabash near Millers on Thursday of last week to Alfred Francen, a swede who came to this country May 5th. His business was to bundle the chain used in loading sand by team and when the engine was backing he attempted to jump on the engine. His foot caught in the frog and threw him under the wheel. The wheel run the whole length of his leg and then cut his body entirely in twain. He lived nearly fifteen minutes. Coroner Gordon was called and held an inquest on Friday. Alvin Wild being notified buried the body on Saturday at in the Millers cemetery. Mr. Francen was unmarried, 21 years old and without any friends in this country.
