MEMORIAL TO THE MEMORY OF JACOB FISHER
Whereas, The Divine Ruler of the Universe has removed from this life our beloved and respected comrade and commander, Jacob Fisher; therefore be it
Resolved, That Chaplain Brown post No. 106, Department of Indiana, G. A. R., feels deeply the loss of said comrade and commander, knowing that we have lost a brave and patriotic member; one who gave nearly four years of his young manhood to his country in its time of need; one who stood many times upon the firing line, and by his sacrifice and service, helped to make this a free, happy and united nation, one whose flag, the Stars and Stripes, does not cast a shadow upon a single slave, but is beloved and respected by all its people. And be it
Resolved, that we extend to the bereaved family our deepest sympathy, knowing that they have lost a kind, loving and generous parent, one whose place can never be filled in this live.
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of the deceased; also spread upon the records of the post and published in the newspapers of Valparaiso, Ind.
Signed -- J. N. Finney, A. W. Lytle and Geo. S. Haste, committee.
