Mrs. Charles Fernekes
Owing to close confinement of the editor occasioned by sickness last week in his family, mentions of several occurrences of deep interest to the community, including notice of the decease of Mrs. Chas. Fernekes, were inadvertently omitted. Mrs. Fernekes was a devoted wife and mother and a very amiable lady who was highly respected by every acquaintance. She was sick only five days. She had been able to sit up each day and conversed freely and easily on the morning of her death. Indeed, she declared she was feeling better, and when alone in her room, while Mr. Fernekes was in the store room below, she attempted to walk after something, but faiting, fell against the door casing or some other hard substance, thereby receiving injury upon her head which likely hastened her decease. She died on Wednesday morning, April 13, 1881, aged 46 years, 7 months, 12 days. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her loss, and to them, in behalf of a sympathizing public, the VIDETTE expresses condolence.
