August Faucher
RETURNS FROM FUNERAL OF AGED GRANDFATHER
(From Saturday's Daily)
Joseph Sego, of this city, has just returned from St. Anne, Ill., where he assisted in the burial of his grandfather, August Faucher, 98 years 5 months and 28 days old, who was a former resident of this place. Mr. Faucher had a wonderful record in posterity, with 15 children, nine of whom are living; 63 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, and 49 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. E. T. Clifford, Joseph Durand, and Miss Flora Durand are the great-grandchildren residing here. The great-great-grandchildren here are five at the Clifford home, one at the Joe Durand home, and Gerald and Charlotte Burk, who live with their grandfather, James Burk.
Mr. Faucher was buried last Tuesday, and six of his grandsons were the pallbearers, Mr. Sego being one to act. Mrs. Faucher died in this city and was buried here. At a later date the bodies of husband and wife will probably be laid side by side at St. Anne.
Mr. Faucher was born in Quebec and came to St. Anne in 1852. From 1888 to 1900 he lived here and was owner of the "Orange" buildings opposite the Salisbury building on College Hill.
