Lizzie Donahue

SAD DEATH.
We are much obliged to Mr. Tulley brother-in-law of Michael Donahue whose child was lately killed by falling in a well out west of town, for information of the details of that accident considerably different from those before communicated to us and appearing in this paper. He says that the windlass was discovered whirling, then Maggie Donahue inquired of her mother where was Lizzie, and the mother answered that she did not know. They both then went to the well and found that Lizzie was at the bottom, having evidently gone down with the bucket by some accident. Mr. Siegel, who was the nearest man to be gotten for help, was called, and he went down and brought up the child, some other men by that time being present to assist in drawing them up. The accident was discovered at the instant it occurred, and by the mother and sister of the child. The child was dead when drawn up, and the doctors say was killed the instant of its fall.
