Peter Detlefs
Coroner's Inquest Report.
State of Indiana,
Porter County.
BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 3d day of September, 1875, information was given to me that the dead body of a person supposed to have come to his death by casualty had been found in Morgan township of said county, and I thereupon caused a jury to be summoned, sworn, and charged to ascertain, so far as possible, the cause of circumstances of the death of the decedent. Witnesses were accordingly called and sworn and evidence reduced to writing, signed by both said jury and myself, whereupon said jury made their verdict that deceased came to his death by congestion of the lungs. Said jury and myself made also this report: That the true name of said person is Peter Detlefs; that at the time of his death he was about 55 years old. Said decedent having been found dead in the house of his brother, the body and effects were left at his disposal.
W. C. PARAMORE, Coroner.
