Joseph Deminosky
TIRED OF LIFE.
In a Fit of Despondency Joseph Deminosky, Commits Suicide.
On Wednesday of last week, Joseph Deminosky, a Pine township farmer went to Michigan City, and on his return home in the evening, was somewhat under the influence of liquor. His boys asked him to turn in and help milk the cows. The old man answered, "I'm done milking cows," and walked away. The boys paid no attention to their father until the chores were finished, when, not seeing him around, began to look for him. Soon after they found their father hanging by the neck in the grainary, dead. The body was speedily cut down, and carried into the house. The next day to went to Michigan City and bought a coffin, and the day following went to Otis to get the priest to conduct the funeral. The priest upon learning of the particulars, refused to bury the body until he had a certificate from the Coroner, authorizing him to do so. This was something the family had not thought of, so they wired Undertaker Lundberg to come down, they having gotten information from somebody that he was a deputy coroner. Mr. Lundberg went to the home, and upon learning the facts, wired Coroner Ketchum, who held the inquest Saturday. Deminosky was an old settler, aged about 60 years, and leaves a wife and three grown boys. He owned a little farm half a mile east of Keiser's school house, and there seems to be no cause for his rash act other than temporary insanity caused by an overindulgence in alcohol.
