Minnie Croft
Coroner's Inquest Report.
State of Indiana,
Porter County.
BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 8th day of November, 1875, information was given to me that the dead bodies of three children of Daniel Croft, of Portage township in said county were then lying at his residence in said township, supposed to have come to their death by casualty, and I thereupon caused a jury to be summoned, sworn and charged to ascertain, so far as possible, the cause and circumstances of the death of said decedents. Witnesses accordingly were called and sworn, and evidence reduced to writing, signed by both said jury and myself and filed in the clerk's office of said county, whereupon said jury made their verdict that the said decedents "came to their death by an impure drug bought at Dr. Miller's drug store, but according to evidence no one was to bolame for the accident." The names of said decedents were Eliza, Minnie and Daniel Croft, and their ages were one three and six years respectively. As they were in the house and charge of their father and family, their bodies were left at his disposal.
WM. C. PARAMORE.
