Mrs. Russel Cohoon
DIED.
At their residence, in Morgan Prairie, Aug. 19th, 1856, MRS. RUSSEL COHOON, aged 43 years and 19 days.
The deceased had long been a believer in a world's salvation , and lived a life that was an honor and a bright ornament of her faith. She died leaving a large and intelligent family and circle of friends to mourn her loss. -- None knew her but to respect her -- none knew her but to love her.
Just a few moments before she expired, she called her family around her dying bed, and shaking hands with them, told them that she had not a thought of fear nor a tear to shed; and looking up and raising her hands, she exclaimed: "I'm going home to my Father, where I long have wished to be, where I shall be free from sorrow and pains, and I want you all to prepare yourselves to meet me there, where separations are known no more." Thus saying, she closed her eyes and passed away, perfectly resigned, fearlessly trusting herself and hers in the hands of a just God, whose tender mercies are over all.
