Orrin Caruthers
FORMER RESIDENT OF THIS CITY DIES IN MISSOURI

Orrin Caruthers, 63 years old, an old friend and schoolmate of Dr. A. P. Letherman, A. C. Smith, and other prominent men here, died last Sunday at his home in Springfield, Mo., from an attack of the grip which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Caruthers formerly lived in this city and is remembered well by the older residents. Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, all of whom were at his bedside when death came. Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday.
Mr. Caruthers was born at Frankfort, Ind. At one time he taught an Indian school in Arizona ninety miles from any railroad. After his marriage in 1879 he lived on a Texas ranch and won reputation as a horseman.
