Nelson L. Brakeman
Resolutions of Condolence.
At the Frankfort District Association N. W. Ind., conference of the Methodist Episcopal church, which convened at Colburn, May 16, the following resolutions were passed on the death of Rev. N. L. Brakeman, A. M.:
WHEREAS, We have heard the profound regret of the sudden death of Rev. N. L. Brakeman, a member of our conference and a former member of this association, therefore,
Resolved, That we recognized in Bro. Brakeman a self-trained man of high literary culture and a minister of superior pulpit ability.
Resolved, That we held him in high esteem for his warm and true heart qualities; for his urbanity and deportment, his steadfast friendship, his fidelity to the church and devotion to God.
Resolved, That we are in deep sympathy with his late charge at Valparaiso in their loss of a faithful pastor, counselor and teacher.
Resolved, That our tenderest sympathies are extended to the daughter, who so recently lost her mother and is now called to mourn the death of her father. She has a place in our prayers.
C. E. LEWIS,
J. E. NEWHOUSE,
E. W. LAWHORN,
W. H. HICKMAN, Sec. of Association.
