Lemuel Blake
THE COUNTY.
JOY'S RUN.
Lemuel Blake, son of Franklin Blake one of our best farmers, aged 28 and single, took his gun -- an old army musket, and went out hunting last Thursday about 3 o'clock P. M. Not returning at dark they began to search and about 11 o'clock found him sixty rods south of the house with nearly his whole head blown off. From the position in which he was found it is evident that he had just recapped his gun and in setting it slipped, striking a log and exploding it. It presented a ghastly sight. Pieces of brain and skull were found in every direction some sixty feet away.
