Marion Beer
DIED.
BEER. -- On the 13th of November, 1877, in Valparaiso, Indiana, Marion, son and only child of Dr. H. M. and Mrs. M. L. Beer, after a very brief but painful illness, of laryngitis, aged 5 years and 2 months.
MARION BEER.
AN ACROSTIC -- BY MRS. EMILY SKINNER.
My bud of promise, which I hoped might stay
Awhile with me, the gard'ner took away --
Removed to another garden, where,
Is richer fields, it grows exceeding fair.
Over the Eden, where it blooms to-day,
No frosts will come, to wither or decay.
Blooming in Paradise -- that better land,
Earth's drooping flowers will brighten and expand,
Early removed, are yet the tender leaf
Received a blight on its young life, so brief.
