Irena Beach
In Memory of Irena Beach.
BY A FRIEND.
One of our dear sisters is gone,
Yes, gone to the home of the blest,
But now she is singing a morning song,
While her body moulders to dust.
Irena was a good and pious wife,
She has missed a world of strife;
We hope she is happy in a better world,
In the enjoyment of eternal life.
Husband, weep not for your wife, so dear;
Dear mother, she has gone to the Christian's home.
You can have nothing now to fear,
For she is in heaven while you mourn.
Irena was loved by one and by all,
Yes, we all loved her so well.
She comes not now at her little one's call,
She has gone to Jesus with him to dwell.
In the church we all may meet,
And can each other's faces see,
But Irena's smiles we ne'er shall greet,
Until the morn of that eternity.
Let one and all then faithful be
So we can meet with her in heaven above,
Where we shall each other's faces see
And surround that throne of love.
Farewell, Irena, it pains our heart,
When we think of you, your face so sweet,
It causes bitter fears to start,
We hope that we shall soon in heaven meet.
Let us dry our tears and wipe our eyes,
And weep nor cry nor sigh no more.
For Irena is far above the skies
On that bright golden shore.
