Mrs. John Batzlaff
CHESTERTON CHIPS
One of the most unusual occurrences in the annals of Laporte, is the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. John Batzlaff. The old couple had lived together 64 years and their lives were so closely linked, that death to one meant death to the other. Mrs. Batzlaff took very ill with the grip about a week ago, and her husband grieved so about it, that he took down the next day and died from real grief. The wife has been unconscious and did not know of her husband's death until yesterday, and when told of it said, "Its all right, we all have to go sometime." The same grave holds in death the couple that were so near and dear to each other in life.
