DIED.
BAKER. -- Esther A. Price was born in Richland county, O., Feb. 19, 1824, and died at her residence in Valparaiso May 27th, 1881, aged 57 years, 3 months, and 8 days.
At the age of 19 she was married to N. B. Rose. The result of this marriage was seven children, three of whom are now living. She was subsequently married to Justus Baker in 1871. At the age of 16 she united her destiny with the Baptist church and remained a member until arriving in Valparaiso about 30 years ago. At that time no church of her denomination being in the place, she, wishing to remain a pious worker, joined the Methodists. Afterward she became a member of the Christian church, in which she continued about 21 years, till her death. The funeral was conducted by Elder Davis, of Hebron, and her body was laid at rest in the old cemetery. Mrs. Baker was known as a devout Christian, kind mother, and esteemed neighbor, and by her death she leaves many friends who join with the relatives in mourning her departure.
