Elisha Arnold
Died, on Friday, the 31st of August, at his residence north of Wheeler, Mr. Elisha Arnold, in the 70th year of his age. Mr. Arnold was born in Cayuga county, New York, May 1st, 1814. In 1842 he moved to Onandaga co., N. Y. In 1845 he moved to Indiana, living on the farm on which he died about 35 years. In early life he was a member of the Baptist church. On October 30, 1836, he was married to Phebe J. Sayles, by whom he had 6 children, 3 sons and 3 daughters, all but 1 of whom are now living. He leaves a wife and 5 children, besides many other friends, to mourn their loss. The funeral services took place at the family residence on Saturday, Sept. 1st, at 10 o'clock, conducted by Elder Riley, of Valparaiso, after which the remains were buried in the McCool cemetery.
