Ernest Affeld, RFD 4, Valparaiso, was in receipt of word today of the tragic
news that his son, Staff Sgt. Freddie K. Affeld, was "missing in action." The
notice stated that the soldier was recorded as missing on Jan. 13, somewhere in
the Pacific. Last word received here by Mr. Affeld from his son was on Dec. 29.
