PINNEY, William E.:
Lawyer, banker, farmer; born La Porte County, Ind., Nov. 10, 1847; son of William and Cynthia (Long) Pinney; educated In district school, Valparaiso Male and Female Coll., Old Chicago Univ., and Law Department of Indiana Univ.; married In La Porte County, Ind., Nov. 25, 1875, Finette Morrison (died May 28, 1903); one daughter: Myra F. Began practice of law at Valparaiso, April, 1874; organized State Bank of Valparaiso, 1889, and Thrift Trust Co., of Valparaiso, Ind., 1904; promoted drainage of lands in Porter and La Porte counties, Ind., by use of floating steam dredges and tile, and has changed more acres of wild land into farming land than any person who has resided in Porter County. President State Bank of Valparaiso, Thrift Trust Co., and Farmers and Traders Bank. Democrat until nomination of Bryan, now Independent. Director of Valparaiso Public Library. Recreations: Land improvement, and breeding of domestic live stock. Clubs: Saturday Evening. Mathesls. Address: Valparaiso.
