Transcribed biography of William Mackey

Mackey, William, first lieutenant Company C. Born March 24, 1830, in Ohio; grew to manhood in Logan county, Ohio, where he taught school for several years. Married March 13, 1855, to Miss Elizabeth Gregg, at Bellefontaine, Ohio, and moved to Porter county, Indiana. In the spring of 1866 he went to Kansas, residing at Chanute and Fort Scott for a short time; in the fall of 1867 he went to Pleasanton, Lynn county, where he resided until November, 1899, when he moved to Wahita, Oklahoma, where he now resides.
