FRANK A. GULLSTROM - The proprietor of the well-known Gullstrom Pharmacy at Fifth and Jackson streets is a native of Porter County, Indiana, born December 10, 1894, the son of Henry and Catherine Gullstrom who were among the very early residents of that community. He attended the common and high schools of Chesterton, after which he entered Valparaiso University where he took his Ph. G. degree in 1914. In the same year he came to Gary and occupied a position as druggist in the Ridgeley Pharmacy for one year, after which he removed to Whiting to engage in the drug business on his own account. He enjoyed success in this venture until November, 1925, when he disposed of the business and established his present business in Gary. Mr. Gullstrom was one of six children born to his parents; they removed from their native land of Sweden in 1870 and settled immediately in Chesterton. Mr. Gullstrom saw service during the World war for twenty-six months - twenty of which were overseas. He was married to Mildred Ainsley, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Ainsley of Connersville, Indiana, on June 14, 1924. To this union was born a daughter, Delora Katherine. Mr. Gullstrom is a member of the Masonic Order, Consistory and Shrine; American Legion; Forty and Eight; Elks; and the Chamber of Commerce.
