ANDREEN, Gustave Albert:
College president and author. Since 1901 president of Augustana College, having been instructor there from 1882 to 1884. From 1886 to 1893 professor of languages at Bethany College, Kan.; instructor of German at Yale for four years, and professor of Scandinavian languages and literature in 1900-01. Author of: “Studies in the German Idyl,” and “Det Sevenska Spraket i Amerika.” Son of Rev. Andrew and Hilda (Esping) Aadreen: born Mar. 13, 1864, at Porter, Ind. Was graduated from the Augustana College in 1881 with the degree of A.B.; had the degree of Ph.D. from Yale in 1898; studied a couple years in universities abroad; was a law student a year and a half in Rock Island, III. Married, Aug. 7, 1890, Mary Strand, of Junction City. Kan. Home: 731 35th St., Rock Island, Ill., U.S.A.
