Remark: Porter County's celebration of Indiana's centennial took place from September 24 through September 30, 1916. The parade for this celebration, referred to as the Historical Parade, took place at 2:30 pm on Thursday, September 28th. According to a program for the centennial celebration, Mrs. C. W. Boucher was chairman for the parade, while Mr. Fred Cole was chairman for the township participants, such as the Porter Township float seen here. According to the program, "Prizes will be given to the aggregate and the individual having either the most original, the most typical, or the most artistic display."
