Remark: This image shows the flour mill constructed by William Cheney in
1841. The mill was then owned and operated by M. B. Crosby, and later by William
Sager. Prior to this flour mill, the location was the site of Samuel Shigley's
sawmill, constructed around 1836. The stack seen to the left of the mill was
added later when steam was used as a power source at the mill.
