Remark: The Raisler Confectionery was located at the northwest corner of
the intersection of Main Street (Lincolnway) and Franklin Street in Valparaiso.
The confectionery was owned and operated by Lawrence H. Raisler. On April 19,
1918, Raisler sold his business to Peter Combis. Louis D. Bondy, owner of the
building, made extensive building improvements for Combis after he purchased the
confectionery business from Raisler. From 1927 to 1947, Raisler was employed as
a salesman for the Bunte Brothers Candy Company of Chicago.
Raisler was born in Shawano, Shawano County, Wisconsin, on April 17, 1886, and
passed away on December 15, 1969, in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. He is
interred at Glendale Memorial Park in Phoenix.
