Remark: Columbia Hall (left in above image) and Mound Hall (right in
above image) were located northeast of the present day intersection of Mound
Street and Greenwich Street. Both halls served as dormitories for students
attend the Northern Indiana Normal School and Business Institute, now known as
Valparaiso University. Both structures were used during the Great War (WWI) to
house army recruits being trained on campus for transportation tasks, such as
driving heavy trucks for the military.
