Duneside Inn
Tremont, Indiana
Date: Circa 1940s
Source Type: Photograph
Publisher, Printer, Photographer: State of
Indiana
Postmark: Not Applicable
Collection: Steven R. Shook
Remark: Duneside Inn, which was a converted
farmhouse, was located north of the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad
station in Tremont, and approximately one-quarter mile south of the park's Wilson
Shelter. To access the inn, one had to enter the Tremont entrance into the state
park, which, like the inn, no longer exists. In 1932, one could stay at the inn
for $2.50 to $3.50 per day, which included meals.
