Remark: Completed in 1917, Cook School was
located approximately two miles south of Kouts, Indiana, in the Kankakee River
marshland. The school was named in honor of the Cook Brothers, who donated the
land for the school. The Cook School was eventually razed and the land reverted
back to the farming family that donated the land for the school.
