Remark: Built in 1928, while
Edward V.
Gustafson was trustee of Liberty Township, a modern brick building was added for
the upper six grades (seventh through twelfth), and the schools of the entire
township were consolidated into Liberty Center High School. This building
included science laboratories, modern plumbing, and a large gymnasium that also
serves as an auditorium for school and community purposes. Motorized buses
transported students over gravel and cement roads. The Johnson School, directly
across the road from this school, provided education for first through sixth
grades.
