Remark: The girl in the third row with a "1." marked on her dress is identified on the reverse of this postcard as "Florence Nichols." The reverse l indicates that the photograph was taken in either 1909, 1910, or 1911.

The teacher is noted on the front of this postcard as Miss S. R. Jones, who can be more fully identified as Sada Rae (Jones) Benson. Sada was born on April 12, 1882, in Kouts, Porter County, Indiana, and died on October 16, 1964, in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan; she is buried in Kouts' Spencer Cemetery. In 1911, Sada married Joseph Ellis Benson. The 1910 Federal Census for Kouts notes that Sada is a teacher.

Florence Nichols was born on December 22, 1897, in Illinois. She married Burl James Cornell on December 9, 1918. Florence passed away on August 4, 1995, and is buried in the Hebron Cemetery in Hebron, Porter County, Indiana.
