Fire Tower on Mount Jackson
Indiana Dunes State Park
Date: 1928
Source Type: Photograph
Publisher, Printer, Photographer: Unknown
Postmark: Not applicable
Collection: Steven R. Shook
Remark: The fire tower on Mount Jackson is believed to have been erected
in the 1920s and removed at some time in the 1930s. The photograph indicates
that the tower was located on the "highest hill," which would be Mount Tom. This
is incorrect since it is known that the fire tower was located on the crest of
Mount Jackson. This photograph was part a group of photographs taken on a
family's vacation to the Indiana Dunes State Park in 1928.
