Remark: This image, looking east, represents present day Broadway Avenue. The cross street in the distance is present day Calumet Avenue. John Slont has been identified as the man stepping into the railcar. The building to the far right that appears to be built of light colored brick is where the Central Hotel once stood; this hotel was razed by fire in 1908.
